Code of Conduct for Dancers at Joanna's Dance Academy
By being a member of Joanna’s Dance Academy, you agree with the following

Treat everyone with equal respect.

Come to classes in correct uniform with hair tied up. No outside clothes should be worn.

Support one another and work as a team.

Respect each other’s right to privacy.

Do not make fun of any other student because of their colour, race, religion, sexuality, abilities, or disabilities.

Speaking to your teacher directly rather than “gossiping” if you have any concerns/issues.

Respect your teachers and their decisions.

When in the community, we always support other dance schools/organisations/members of the public and treat them with respect and kindness regardless of their behaviour towards you. Be kind always!

Be sensitive towards others and any troubles they may be facing outside of dance.

Be a positive representative of the dance school.
All dancers at Joanna’s Dance Academy must not…

Must not use their phones during class.
-
Must not discriminate or make others feel uncomfortable.

Must not bully fellow dance students or staff (including verbal, physical and cyberbullying)

Must not smoke in public (including e-cigarettes) whilst in dance uniform, or anywhere near the dance studio including before and after lessons.

Must not undermine or criticise others.

Must not promote inappropriate behaviour in front of others (such as drinking, smoking, bad behaviour at school etc)

Must not gossip or spread false information.

If any dancer is seen to not be following the code of conduct, then an investigation will take place and an appropriate sanction will be implemented.

Sanctions may include the following:

Not taking part in a particular event
-
Having phones confiscated
-
Letters home to parents
-
Having a class assistant role removed (if applicable)
-
Not being considered for future solos, duets, or trios.

Temporary exclusion from a class
-
Permanent exclusion from a class
-
Temporary exclusion from the dance school
-
Permanent exclusion from the dance school.
