Hi, my name is Jo Walker and I am the founder and principal of Joanna's Dance Academy. I have been passionate about dance since the age of six, which has led me to become a fully qualified teacher with the National Association of Teachers of Dancing (NATD). Alongside my dance training, I also hold a BSc in Psychology which helps me support my students' confidence, wellbeing and personal growth.

With over ten years teaching experience, I have delivered dance and yoga classes across nurseries, primary schools, SEN schools and private dance schools. I am DBS checked, first aid trained, fully insured, and hold a safeguarding certificate, ensuring a safe and professional environment for every student. I have taught students who have successfully auditioned for professional dance programmes, gained places at prestigious dance colleges, and have had students dance on stages across the world.

I believe dance should be joyful, inspiring, and accessible to all. My mission is to create a welcoming space where children and teens can flourish - whether they are dancing for fun, building self-esteem, or aiming for a career in the performing arts.
